Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") set forth the conditions for using Yen Finder (the "Service") provided by nando.llc (the "Operator"). Use of the Service requires your agreement to these Terms.

1. Nature of Displayed Rate Information and Disclaimers

• The rate information displayed by the Service is provided for informational purposes only.
• Rates are obtained through scraping of official websites, OCR of images on X (Twitter), and user submissions, and may be subject to delays, misreadings, or discrepancies.
• Always reconfirm the displayed rate at the storefront before exchanging. Currency exchange is conducted at the user's own risk, and the Operator is not an intermediary.
• Because exchange rates constantly fluctuate, it is normal for the rates on this site to differ from in-store rates.
• The Service does not provide investment decisions or financial advice.
• The Operator bears no responsibility whatsoever for monetary losses, opportunity losses, or any other damages resulting from relying on the Service's information to exchange currency or to refrain from doing so.

2. Nature of Rankings and Scores

• Store rankings and scores are the result of mechanical aggregation of publicly available information and do not constitute an endorsement or non-endorsement of any specific store.
• The score calculation logic is published on the Methodology page.
• Rankings are valid only within the scope of data that has been collected and do not include comparisons with rates from stores whose data has not been collected.

3. User Submissions

• Submissions of rate board photos (/submit) can be made anonymously and free of charge.
• The Operator holds the right to use submitted photos and rate data for improvement of the Yen Finder service and for provision to third parties (API and data aggregation).
• The following types of submissions may be removed without notice:
  • Photos that are not of rate boards (landscapes, people, unrelated subjects, etc.)
  • Images that may infringe copyright
  • False rate information
  • Images that infringe on the privacy of third parties
• Within 24 hours after submission, you may manually add or correct currencies on your own submission (cookie-based authentication).
• The submitter warrants that they hold the copyright to the photo themselves, or that the submission is within the scope of legitimate rights.

4. Treatment of Listed Stores

• The Service aggregates and publishes publicly available information without obtaining permission from the listed stores.
• Owners of listed stores with any of the following requests may contact info@nando.llc:
  • Correction or update of store information
  • Requests to correct rate data
  • Opt-out (removal from listings)
  • Other complaints regarding displayed content
• When such a request is received, the Operator will respond within a reasonable period (typically within 7 business days).

5. Prohibited Conduct

• Excessive access to the Service (including via API and scraping)
• Bulk or continuous duplication or resale of the Service's data
• Acts that cause nuisance to other users, stores, or the Operator
• Use in violation of laws, regulations, or public order and morals
• Using the Service for money laundering or other illegal activities

6. Affiliate Link Disclosure

• Some links within the Service (referrals to remittance services, currency exchange cards, etc.) may include affiliate programs.
• Affiliate links are marked with a "PR" label.
• The Operator may receive a commission through such referrals, but the existence of a referral does not affect the evaluation of article content.
• Details regarding affiliates are handled in accordance with these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

• The application code of the Service is provided under the MIT License.
• The store names, chain names, and logos displayed belong to their respective rights holders.
• Article content (/tips) is independently created by the Operator and is provided under the CC BY-NC 4.0 License. Except for commercial use, it may be quoted or reproduced with proper attribution.

8. Use of Published Data; Prohibited Acts

1. All editorial, database, and other intellectual property rights in the exchange rates, store information, locations, business hours, and other data (and any compilation thereof), as well as the articles, comparison tables, maps, and other content published on the Service (collectively, the "Published Data"), belong to the Operator.
2. Except with the Operator's prior consent, you may not collect, accumulate, reproduce, or reconstruct all or a substantial part of the Published Data as a database, nor provide, redistribute, or sell it to any third party — including for the purpose of operating a competing service — by means of any automated program, crawler, scraper, API-like method, or other systematic or repeated means.
3. The preceding paragraph does not restrict ordinary crawling, indexing, or citation by search engines and generative-AI services, nor personal, non-commercial quotation with a clear attribution to the source.

9. Changes to or Suspension of the Service

• The Operator may change, interrupt, or suspend the content of the Service without prior notice.
• The Operator bears no responsibility for any damages incurred by users as a result.

10. Disclaimer

• The Service is provided "as-is".
• The Operator makes no warranties whatsoever regarding the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the data.
• The Operator bears no responsibility for monetary losses arising from currency exchange, disputes with exchange stores, or any other damages related to use of the Service.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Japanese law, and any disputes related to the Service shall be subject to the exclusive agreed jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court in the first instance.

12. Changes to the Terms

• The Operator may modify these Terms as necessary.
• In the event of material changes, notice will be given on the Service.
• If you continue to use the Service after such changes, you will be deemed to have agreed to the revised Terms.
